Artist’s Statement My work consists mainly of photomontages printed on a variety of textiles. Mostly I use pictures clipped from newspapers or Internet as well as various self-portraits and my own photography. We are living in information overload. Photomontage is for me like a manuscript of the time. Sometimes I do also environmental art and installations. In my previous work I have examined social affairs from war and violence to the paradoxes of the consumer society. One central motif in my art is resisting injustice. I am fascinated by the diversity of humanity and, at the same time, its universal similarity. As an artist my work principally aims to examine the relation between the visible surface and the deeper invisible, abstract levels. The marks create meanings.
