Artist’s Statement
I make free conceptual textile art. My work consists mainly of photomontages printed on textile materials. Mostly I use pictures clipped from newspapers or internet as well as various self-portraits and my own photography. We are living in information overload. Photomontage is for me like a manuscript of time. I make also environmental art and installations. Art is a process. In my previous work I have examined social affairs from war and violence to the paradoxes of the consumer society. One central motif in my art is resisting injustice. As an artist my work principally aims to examine the relation between the visible surface and the deeper invisible abstract levels, thoughts. The marks create meanings.
